OTTAWA — Media are invited to attend the Chief of the Defence Staff Change of Command ceremony at Shaw Centre. His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, will preside over the ceremony, where General Jonathan Vance, on promotion, will assume command of the Canadian Armed Forces from General Tom Lawson.
When: Friday, July 17, at 10:00 a.m. Due to security requirements, media must be inside the Shaw Centre no later than 9:00 a.m.
Where: Shaw Centre, 55 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa.
The Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of National Defence, will be in attendance. The ceremony will include a 100-person guard of honour and a colour party, with music provided by the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Due to security requirements, all members of the media must register in advance with the Department of National Defence Media Relations Office and be inside the Shaw Centre no later than 9:00 a.m.
Late arrivals will not be admitted.
