Thursday, July 30, 2015 – Charlottetown, PEI – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
Delivra Inc., the company whose popular pain relief products have been endorsed by professional athletes including hockey legend Bobby Orr, is expanding its PEI-based activities by introducing new packaging technology. This follows a nation-wide direct-to-consumer advertising campaign, also supported by ACOA, the company undertook earlier this year to showcase its expanding line of LivRelief™ products.
The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), announced federal government support of $612,825 for Delivra Inc. to undertake these activities.
Delivra’s LivRelief™ products can be found in pharmacy, grocery and natural product stores across Canada, and the company is expanding to introduce new products and explore new markets into the United States. Delivra will also undertake a new marketing campaign to promote the new packaging equipment. The equipment can produce over 100,000 sachets a day, an excess capacity that can be used by other Canadian companies looking for promotional mono-dose sachets or packaging for their products.
Quick Facts:
- The Government of Canada is supporting Delivra Inc. with repayable contributions through ACOA’s Business Development Program of $372,500 to purchase new packaging equipment, $132,825 to promote the equipment, and $107,500 to market their LivRelief™ products.
- The novel patented packaging technology creates a single-use, travel-size sachet for its own Delivra product line of pain relief creams. It will be housed at BioFoodTech in Charlottetown, under the PortaPack Ltd. operating name.
- Delivra is based in Ontario and operates its research and development activities out of the National Research Council in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
