Public invited to Parks Canada BioBlitz event
July 20, 2015 Fundy National Park, New Brunswick Parks Canada
Parks Canada invites visitors to connect with the natural heritage of Fundy National Park during a 24 hour BioBlitz from Friday, July 31 to Saturday, August 1.
Equiped with smartphones, digital cameras and the iNaturalist App, visitors are challenged to record as many species as possible to create a snapshot of the park’s biodiversity. All species data collected during this outdoor, family-friendly adventure and hands-on learning experience will contribute to the monitoring programs in Fundy National Park.
Whether you’re a professional scientist, naturalist or just want to learn more about the biodiversity of Fundy National Park with your family, the BioBlitz needs you. The BioBlitz features both drop-in and expert-led programs. For more information on how to participate, visit Fundy National Park’s website.
Through programs like this, Parks Canada is supporting Canada’s National Conservation Plan by facilitating new ways for Canadians to connect with nature.
