Today, the Honourable Tim Uppal, Minister of State for Multiculturalism, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced an investment to support the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) in the expansion of trade and investment opportunities for western Canadian businesses in the agriculture, energy, and technology sectors.
Federal funding of $295,000, through the Western Diversification Program (WDP), will enhance the trade capacity of small- and medium-sized enterprises through market-specific information sessions, the development of marketing materials, and participation in trade shows and international missions.
EEDC will deliver this initiative in cooperation with the Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Association, and together they will help companies navigate the international marketplace while targeting emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.
