Bryan Hayes, Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie, on behalf of the Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), announced today an investment to support jobs, growth and prosperity in the Manitoulin and LaCloche regions.
A FedNor investment totalling $2,060,490 million will support eight projects in the areas of regional economic development, broadband infrastructure, tourism, as well as business growth and competitiveness (see details in attached information sheet). Organizations that will benefit from FedNor funding include: Waubetek Business Development Corporation; Whitefish River First Nation; Ojibwe Cultural Foundation; Manitoulin Wind and Solar Institute; Weengushk Film Institute; and De-ba-jeh-mu-jig Theatre Group.
