Park and waterfront developments will better serve tourists and support economic development
July 23, 2015 – Trinity, NL – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
The Town of Trinity is upgrading an existing park and its waterfront, thanks in part to an investment from the Government of Canada. The Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for Newfoundland and Labrador and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), today announced federal funding of more than $280,000 for the project.
The project to redevelop the existing park will create a gathering place and main focal point for the town. It will include improved water drainage and footpaths to connect visitors with other attractions in the community. In addition, the waterfront development will include a slipway and floating docks to accommodate planned boating events and the growing marine traffic in the region.
The Town of Trinity, in conjunction with its tourism partners, has been established as one of Newfoundland and Labrador's primary tourism destinations. The Town has historic connections to the province's fishery, a significant number of quality museums/interpretation centres, and is the home of a professional theatre company.
