July 31, 2015–City of Toronto, Ontario – Infrastructure Canada
The Member of Parliament for York Centre, Mark Adler, and the Board Chair of the UJA Federation, Morris Perlis, today announced funding of up to $10.2 million for the Sherman Campus Project under the Building Canada Fund - Major Infrastructure Component. Once complete, this project will help meet the increasing needs of one of Canada's fastest growing communities by providing Toronto families with access to a range of recreational, cultural, health, and social services.
This project will see the construction of a new recreational facility open to the public at the Sherman Campus, in the Greater Toronto Area. The new facility will include fitness and aquatic centres, cultural arts programming facilities and additional community space, as well as outdoor recreational facilities for the community.
Since 2006, the Government of Canada has made an unprecedented level of investment in infrastructure, which supported hundreds of community centers, library, pools, trails and rinks, where friends and families can spend time together.
