London MPs announce strategic federal investment in local business
July 9, 2015 – London, ON. – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
Susan Truppe, Member of Parliament for London North Centre, on behalf of FedDev Ontario Minister Gary Goodyear, announced today an investment of up to $974,338 for Artisan Metal Finishing to expand its facility and provide new and automated metal finishing services to existing and new market segments. MP Truppe was joined by Science and Technology Minister Ed Holder and Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London.
Artisan Metal Finishing is a growing, dynamic and customer-focused metal finishing company. It provides corrosion protection and decorative finishes for metal components used by manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers in several industries such as automotive and plumbing.
Today's investment will allow Artisan Metal Finishing to expand its current facility and adopt new processes to improve the production capacity and efficiency of its existing lines. This will help the company better serve its existing clients as well as diversify its markets and increase export opportunities to the United States. This project is expected to create up to 11 full-time jobs and an additional 10 jobs in the two years following the project's completion.
The Harper Government's repayable contribution, through FedDev Ontario's Investing in Business Growth and Productivity initiative, is aimed at helping established businesses to expand their operations, invest in productivity improvements and compete globally.
