Project made possible thanks to federal Gas Tax Fund
July 1, 2015 –– Kaleden, British Columbia– Infrastructure Canada
The Kaleden Lakeshore Pedestrian Corridor was opened today as part of the community’s Canada Day celebration.
The two-kilometre paved multi-purpose pathway extends from Highway 97 to the Lower Kaleden lakeshore on Ponderosa Avenue and provides residents of all ages with a safe walking and biking route for both recreation and commuting. It also provides a link to several community services and the lakefront amenities of Skaha Lake, as well as to the Kettle Valley Rail Trail.
The $600,000 project was made possible thanks to $300,000 from both the federal Gas Tax Fund and the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
