Parks Canada joins the fun at the Fête du Nautisme
June 26, 2015– Chambly, Quebec Waterways – Parks Canada
Parks Canada, in collaboration with the City of Chambly and its nautical partners, invites visitors to give kayaking a try at the Chambly Canal National Historic Site during the Fête du Nautisme (Nautical Fest) on Saturday, July 4.
The Learn to Paddle workshop offers the opportunity to enjoy free kayaking, learn about safe boating practices, and participate in a variety of other activities. The Chambly Canal Parc Commémoratif is located at the corner of Bourgogne Avenue and Maurice Street. Programming will be offered from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by Parks Canada and its partners.
The Fête du Nautisme offers the perfect opportunity to take a trip along the water and get aboard a kayak. Kayaks are offered free of charge by Chambly's Gervais-Désourdy Nautical Centre, which will provide safe excursions along the waterway to visitors.
The Lifesaving Society will also host workshops on safe boating practices, and experts will be on-site to check floating equipment and provide practical nautical information to ensure that your days on the water are safe and enjoyable this summer. Other activities organized by Parks Canada include inflatable games for kids and airbrush tattoo sessions.
In case of rain, the Learn to Paddle event will be rescheduled to Sunday, July 5, 2015.
