CALGARY – Joan Crockatt, Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre, on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, yesterday announced a $1 million investment to improve Calgary’s Military Museums. This infrastructure project will help preserve important historical artifacts.
Work is in progress at the Military Museums and is expected to be completed by mid-2016. The project includes upgrades to the heating and climate control systems, and upgrades to the Museum bunker and utility lines which are crucial to the Museums’ operations.
The Calgary Military Museums is a unique facility, consisting of eight distinct galleries and museum rooms in one building. The Museums celebrate the history of those who have served our country, and display memories and traditions in the form of historical artifacts. Upgrades to the Museums’ climate control systems announced today will ensure the preservation of these artifacts.
