TRENTON – The Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced a significant investment of $10 million for infrastructure projects at 8 Wing Trenton. These important projects, to be completed over the next two years, will improve and expand infrastructure for the Canadian Armed Forces at 8 Wing – while also helping to create local jobs in the Trenton area.
A total of five projects will be funded as a result of this investment:

The construction of an Integrated Personnel Support Centre will provide a new, modern facility for the men and women of 8 Wing. This project is valued at $4 million.

A $2 million project at the military quarters on base will involve the renovation of washrooms, and the installation of a new heating and ventilation system.

A $2.3 million project for work at various buildings at 8 Wing Trenton will include repairs to support trusses, roof replacement, as well as road reconstruction and new asphalt.

A project for the comprehensive assessment of the airfield drainage system, including inspections will identify repair requirements. This project is valued at $1.5 million.

A project for roadway repairs, valued at $275,000, will re-construct the road with proper grading, newer lanes, curbs and sidewalks.
