NORTH BAY, ONTARIO – The Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, and Jay Aspin, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Temiskaming, today announced a significant $9.2 million investment for both 22 Wing North Bay and the North Bay Armoury. The investment will improve critical infrastructure for the Canadian Armed Forces at both locations, while helping create local jobs and economic growth in the North Bay area.
At the North Bay Armoury, the Government will invest more than $6.3 million for extensive interior and exterior renovations, roofing repairs, improved washroom facilities and repairs to emergency-lighting systems.
At 22 Wing North Bay, the Government will invest nearly $2.9 million to repair the fire-detection system to the Underground Complex, remove the former fire-suppression system, repair the roof and emergency-lighting system, and replace the heating boiler.
