Project funded by a federal-provincial investment of nearly $27 million

Residents of Trois-Rivières and the surrounding region of Mauricie are now benefitting from a new outdoor amphitheatre capable of hosting both national and international productions
The announcement was made today by the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, made the announcement today with Mr. Jean-Denis Girard, Minister for Small and Medium Enterprises, Regulatory Streamlining and Regional Economic Development, Minister responsible for the Mauricie region and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Trois-Rivières, on behalf of Mr. Pierre Moreau, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy, and Mr. Yves Lévesque, Mayor of the City of Trois-Rivières.
The Ministers took the opportunity to reaffirm the collaboration by the governments of Canada and Quebec to realize construction of the new amphitheatre in Trois-Rivières, which was made possible by an important contribution of $26.6 million from Major Infrastructure Component of the Building Canada Fund–Quebec.
The project included the construction of an outdoor amphitheatre in downtown Trois-Rivières integrated into the major cultural complex located at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice River and St. Lawrence River. Equipped with cutting edge technology, the facility features a large covered stage with covered seating for approximately 3,500 and space for an additional 5,500 people on the adjacent grassy slope.
