Government of Canada supports Edmundston’s Foire Brayonne
July 29, 2015 – Edmundston, New Brunswick – Department of Canadian Heritage
The Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development and Member of Parliament (Madawaska–Restigouche), today announced funding of $21,800 under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program for Edmundston’s Foire Brayonne. Minister Valcourt made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
The 37th edition of the Foire Brayonne, a celebration of the culture and history of the Brayon people, starts today and continues through August 2, 2015. The activities include a show on local history presented by period storytellers, musical performances showcasing local artists in a range of genres, and demonstrations of how various artisanal products are made.
