August 19, 2015 Fort Beauséjour – Fort Cumberland National Historic Site Parks Canada
Parks Canada invites Canadians to Fort Beauséjour – Fort Cumberland National Historic Site for a special presentation about First World War pilots from New Brunswick, including one of Canada’s top ace pilots, Major Albert Desbrisay Carter.
The activity begins at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the Pavilion, with a presentation by Brent Wilson of the Gregg Centre for the Study of War and Society, at the University of New Brunswick.
In addition, Fort Beauséjour – Fort Cumberland National Historic Site is featuring an exhibit on Major Carter in the Webster Wing of the Visitor Centre. The exhibit includes several of his war medals.
Fort Beauséjour – Fort Cumberland also offers the Parks Canada’s Xplorers Program with activities designed for children aged 6 to 11 and their families to discover this historic site. Several outdoor interpretive panels and paintings guide visitors and can be combined with a mini handheld device and GPS-based Explora Fort Tour or a downloadable app for smartphones to discover the secrets and stories of the National Historic Site.
