Public hearing on Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and Waste Management Facility

Ottawa, Ontario – On June 23, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will hold the first part of a 2-part public hearing to consider the application from Ontario Power Generation to refurbish Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and to renew licences for the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station and Waste Management Facility.
During Part 1 of the hearing, the Commission will consider oral and written submissions, related to OPG’s application, from OPG and CNSC staff. During Part 2 of the hearing, which will be held the week of October 5 in Ajax, Ontario, the Commission will consider oral and written interventions from Indigenous Nations and communities, members of the public and other interested parties.
