News Release

New visitor offering facilitates group visits to the iconic Grotto

May 10, 2016                                Tobermory, Ontario                                      Parks Canada Agency

Parks Canada is pleased to introduce guided group tours of the iconic Grotto at Bruce Peninsula National Park. By encouraging Canadians to visit their national parks and historical places, and providing them with the information and means to enjoy them, Parks Canada allows more Canadians to experience the outdoors and learn about our heritage. This new offer will enable groups to schedule trips with guaranteed and timely access to the popular Grotto. Led by knowledgeable interpreters, groups will follow an easy to moderate two kilometres trail from the parking lot to the 40 foot cliff that looks down onto the Grotto itself.

The Grotto is a naturally-formed cave, carved into the rocky shoreline over thousands of years by the waves of the Georgian Bay. Internationally renowned, the Grotto has become a must-see destination in Ontario. By facilitating group tours, Parks Canada is making this treasured place more accessible for visitors who are unable to make the journey by car.

Tours will be available seven days a week from May to September, and can accommodate up to 56 individuals. Space is limited and advanced reservations are required. To book your guided group tour or for more information, please call 1-519-596-2233 (ext. 236) or email bruce‑fathomfive@pc.gc.ca
