June 7, 2016                               Trois-Rivières, Quebec                                            Parks Canada Agency

The Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site will open its doors from June 18 to September 5, 2016 for a new season. Visitors will discover the place where the first iron industry and the first industrial village in Canada were built. Activities, special events, a magnificent terrain where summer can be enjoyed; there's something to please everyone!

Fresh on the heels of last year' success, the “Walk of Legends and Tales” activity will again be offered. From the village to the Saint-Maurice River, visitors will meet characters who have many stories to tell.

Canada Day and the Fête de la Saint-Thibault will punctuate the summer season by giving a festive air to this highly significant place that combines cultural and natural treasures.

As we near the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017, the Government of Canada invites Canadians to experience Canada’s remarkable natural heritage and rich history in national parks and national historic sites this summer.
