Celebrate summer at Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site

Parks Canada invites you to celebrate the arrival of summer with an enjoyable community picnic on the grounds of Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site. The event will be held Saturday June 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will include activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Spend your day at the canal enjoying live entertainment, local breweries offering tastings, and food vendors on site. Bring your blankets, snacks and your favourite outdoor games such as bocce, frisbee and washer toss. The Sault’s Ultimate Players’ Association will be on-site playing frisbee and teaching tricks and techniques to help you improve your game! Enjoy the canal’s urban nature trails on foot or test drive our new fat bike rentals. They are a great way to explore the national historic site.

Developing new and innovative programs and services allows more Canadians, including youth and newcomers, to experience the outdoors and learn about our environment and history.
