July 21, 2016 Nipigon, Ontario Parks Canada Agency
Parks Canada is hosting artESCAPE, a unique art event, in collaboration with the Township of Nipigon and the Top of Lake Superior Chamber of Commerce during the “Celebrate Nipigon!” weekend. This free and interactive outdoor art gallery, will feature seven local artists on July 30 and 31, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Nipigon at Rotary Park on the corner of Front Street and Third Street.
The artists, from communities along the North Shore, will showcase their work and engage art enthusiasts and visitors to celebrate the Group of Seven and their presence in the region. Activities with an art theme, including colouring and airbrush tattoos, will be offered. Everyone will also have the opportunity to learn more about the Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area. In addition to artESCAPE, the “Celebrate Nipigon!” weekend will have activities for the entire family. This includes Paddle to the Sea Jubilee celebrating the 75th anniversary of the beloved children’s book, the Waterwalker Film Festival, and the Blueberry Blast offering activities and entertainment centered on our favorite local fruit.
