Government of Canada marks national historic significance of Camp Hughes

Dr. Doug Eyolfson, Member of Parliament for Charleswood–St. James–Assiniboia–Headingley will participate in the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the national historic significance of Camp Hughes.

Dr. Eyolfson will be representing the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, the Honourable Catherine McKenna.

Time:             Noon (CT)
                    Media are asked to arrive by 11:30 a.m. (CT)
Location:         Camp Hughes
                    South of the Trans-Canada Highway, 10 km west of Carberry, Manitoba

Directions to site from Winnipeg:

  1. Take the Trans-Canada Highway West
  2. Continue driving past Carberry approximately 10 KM
  3. Turn south onto Provincial Road 351
  4. Turn south at Road 91 W and Proceed south
  5. Cross CPR tracks
  6. Turn right at the Camp Hughes Cemetery sign
