Live History Presents: Mary’s Odyssey – The Laurier Years

Attention Ladies and Gentlemen! Sir Wilfrid Laurier, along with his protégé, William Lyon Mackenzie King, cordially invite you to help solve a long standing mystery. A young maid, Mary, takes you on a tour of the historic rooms of the former Prime Minister’s home in an interactive theatrical experience presented by Live History. This theatre performance will not only entertain and intrigue you, but also allow you to participate by helping to find clues that lead to a hidden treasure as Prime Minister Laurier’s household comes to life.

Laurier House is the home where both Laurier and Mackenzie King lived as Prime Minister and is located just 20 minutes’ walk from Parliament Hill. Visitors and Ottawa residents alike are invited to discover the many new and exciting experiences of this historic attraction. Parks Canada is developing new and innovative programs and services allowing more Canadians, including youth and newcomers, to experience our national historic sites and learn about our nation’s culture and heritage.

  • Every Saturday afternoon, from July 9th to August 13th, Laurier House invites you to enjoy afternoon tea, served by the Cordon Bleu, on one of the most exclusive verandas in Ottawa
  • Laurier House National Historic Site is the only former Prime Ministerial residence regularly open to the public and houses over 10,000 artefacts from the Laurier and King periods.
