September 21, 2016 Ottawa, Ontario Parks Canada Agency
From the welcome cocktail to the chocolate marquise, fresh fruit macedoine, and raspberry tuile; on September 23, 2016 Laurier House National Historic Site is offering an opportunity for the public to taste the flavours of power at a Sir Wilfrid Laurier inspired “state dinner” experience to mark the 175th anniversary of the first Francophone to become Prime Minister of Canada.
As an official residence for two Prime Ministers, Laurier House was the centre of political power for almost half a century. From informal parties with friends to meals with heads of state and global personalities, like Winston Churchill, Franklin Delano Roosevelt or Grey Owl, the “state dinner” experience is an opportunity for members of the public to sample a taste of a bygone era.
Sir Wilfrid and Lady Zoé Laurier will be in attendance to greet guests and share stories about the history of the house and politics. The three-course dining experience begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include a wine pairing option.
Tickets are $125 per person, tax and gratuities included. Seating is limited so reserve your spot today by calling Laurier House at 613-992-8142 or by emailing Laurier-House@pc.gc.ca.
Through this partnership with Cordon Bleu Ottawa, Parks Canada, the country's largest tourism provider, is offering visitors to Laurier House National Historic Site, a meaningful and innovative experience.
