January 13, 2017                                         Charlottetown, PEI                               Parks Canada Agency

Campers dreaming of summer vacations and warmer weather can make reservations for camping in PEI National Park as of 8 a.m. AST January 23rd. Camping at PEI National Park is one of the most memorable ways to experience and appreciate the natural beauty of its sandy beaches, coastal ecosystems and over 50 km of trails. Both Cavendish and Stanhope campgrounds are less than 100 m from PEI National Park beaches, trails and interpretive programs. The campgrounds have been upgraded recently to accommodate more tent-trailers, small campers and larger RVs. There have also been improvements to washroom facilities, entrance kiosks, roads, and the addition of new oTENTiks and playgrounds.

The Government of Canada is pleased to offer free admission for all visitors to national parks, national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas operated by Parks Canada in 2017 to celebrate Canada 150. Visitors should note that camping fees still apply.

To avoid the crowds, consider visiting the national park in the shoulder season.  June and September are excellent months to explore PEI National Park.

Reservations can be made online at www.reservations.parkscanada.gc.ca or by phone at 1-877-RESERVE (1-877-737-3783).

Visit the PEI National Park website for more information and to view campground maps and photos.
