To provide visitors with a new and innovative way to connect with Canada’s natural and cultural treasures, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna, today announced the launch of a NEW Parks Canada mobile app.

The NEW Parks Canada app provides visitors with the information and resources they need to plan their visit and discover breathtaking locations, including hidden gems, and other unique and memorable experiences at national parks, historic sites and marine conservation areas.

Visitors can share their experiences on social media and use fun and interactive Parks Canada-themed photo-filters activated by their smartphone GPS when they arrive at one of Parks Canada’s many destinations. There is also detailed information on Parks Canada places, tips on how to prepare for a visit, and interactive maps. Visitors can even find out about hundreds of events planned for 2017 all across the country.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation, the Government is very pleased to offer free admission to all Parks Canada places in 2017, and this NEW app is one way that Parks Canada is providing visitors with exceptional opportunities to connect with Canada’s iconic destinations this year and beyond.

Download the app today for FREE in the App Store and Google Play Store.

The Parks Canada mobile application is available on Android (version 4.4 and up) and iOS (version iOS 9.0 and up), including support for iPhone 4s devices.
