May 19, 2017 Québec, QC Parks Canada
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation, Parks Canada, in collaboration with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, will host a special citizenship ceremony at Grosse Île and the Irish Memorial National Historic Site and will welcome 40 new citizens. This highly symbolic site was the gateway to thousands of immigrants between 1832 and 1937.
Along with new Canadians receiving their citizenship, Canadians across the country are encouraged to reaffirm their citizenship and share what citizenship means to them on social media using #MyCitizenship and #Canada150.
