Parks Canada kicks off Canada 150 celebrations at the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve

Starting today, the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve is welcoming visitors for the 2017 season.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Confederation, the Government is very pleased to offer free admission to all Parks Canada places in 2017. The FREE Parks Canada 2017 Discovery Pass provides unlimited opportunities to enjoy national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas across the country.
This year, the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve offers rich and diverse activities and events to give more Canadians the opportunity to experience the outdoors and to learn more about this unique environment.
Camping, hiking, wildlife watching, taking pictures, interpretation activities, guided tours on the islands will give the visitors a full blast. Among the park reserve’s many exciting activities this year, don’t miss Mingan Archipelago: Witness to a Great Nation. Every Thursday, from July 13rd to August 10th, 2017, discover rich Innu culture in this interpretation activity on Quarry Island, combining the wonders of nature with treasures of their heritage. An unforgettable experience led by members of the Ekuanitshit First Nation.

The FREE Parks Canada 2017 Discovery Pass is available online, and at the Parks Canada’s visitors and interpretation centers as well as at the maritime carriers. Our partner, CIBC, will also distribute passes.
Please note that only admission is free for 2017. There are fees for enhanced interpretative programs and recreational products and services, such as camping and firewood.
