Come Join us for the Harvest Celebration as Part of the Journées de la Culture at Fort Chambly National Historic Site

A nice way to end an exceptional season

On Sunday, October 1st, Fort Chambly National Historic Site will host the Harvest Celebration, which traditionally marks the end of summer, to commemorate the end of an exceptional season.

Part of the Journées de la culture, the Harvest Celebration will feature a wide range of activities and presentations for young and old alike. Many activities will be offered throughout the day, including a presentation in the Fort’s heritage garden given by an expert on heirloom vegetable varieties, fun and educational apple-themed food workshops, as well as a squash cookie tasting activity hosted by La Corne d’abondance. All of the Fort’s harvest is given to this health and social services community organization.

In addition, visitors will be able to contribute to the interactive station located in the exhibit, Mr. Dion, a saviour of the fort!, with their stories and photos. The Harvest Celebration will also be one of the last opportunities to see the exhibit, A taste of Nouvelle-France, before a new exhibition is launched in 2018.

The Harvest Celebration is a free event hosted by Parks Canada in collaboration with the City of Chambly.
