Parks Canada manages one of the finest and most extensive systems of protected natural and cultural heritage areas in the world, including national treasures such as Gros Morne National Park.

Winter is the perfect time to experience the outdoors and learn more about our environment at Gros Morne National Park. Parks Canada is excited to offer a variety of winter experiences, including cross-country skiing on groomed trails, backcountry ski and snowshoe routes, a sliding hill, winter picnicking spots, and more!

Overnight guests of the park will be able to enjoy cozy accommodations in one of the park’s two backcountry ski huts. There are also campsites available at Green Point Campground for those who enjoy winter camping.

Millions of Canadians celebrated Canada 150 with free admission to Parks Canada places in 2017. For 2018 and beyond, Parks Canada will make discovering nature easier and more affordable for families with free admission for youth 17 and under. By making admission free for youth 17 and under, Canada is celebrating families and the importance of our protected areas.

The 2018 Gros Morne National Park annual park pass is available now and is valid from January to December. For information on how to obtain your 2018 pass, please visit Gros Morne National Park’s website. For those who purchased a Gros Morne National Park Pass in 2016, these will be accepted until May 15th, 2018.

In addition, the 2018 Parks Canada Discovery Pass is now on sale and is a great value, providing access to our national treasures all year long. For information on purchasing the 2018 Parks Canada Discovery Pass, please visit the Parks Canada website.

Quotes

“What better way for families to experience winter in Newfoundland and Labrador than with a visit to Gros Morne National Park where they can discover nature in new and fun ways! Winter offers an incredible escape for Canadians looking to enjoy the park’s natural wonders through cross-country and backcountry skiing, and snowshoeing adventures. I encourage Canadians to visit this incredible park in the winter season or any season.
