Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site hosts a Canada Day Métis Friendship Celebration

Dr. Doug Eyolfson, Member of Parliament for Charleswood – St. James – Assiniboia – Headingley will provide remarks at the opening ceremony for the Canada Day Métis Friendship Celebration at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site on behalf of the Government of Canada.

This inaugural event, hosted by Parks Canada in partnership with the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF), will also include remarks from the MMF President, David Chartrand, and other members of the organization.

In addition to the regular Canada Day activities at Lower Fort Garry National Historic Site (self-guided tours, games, face-painting and free cake), there will be a variety of traditional Métis music, dancing, and interactive activities for visitors.

Admission is free and members of the public are invited to join Parks Canada and the Manitoba Metis Federation for this special celebration.
