Government of Canada Recognizes the National Historic Significance of Margaret Laurence (1926-1987)

Representatives from Parks Canada and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada will take part in a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate Margaret Laurence (1926-1987) as a national historic person.

Well known and widely read, Margaret Laurence is one of Canada’s most esteemed and beloved writers. Considered as an icon of Canadian literature, she contributed to Canada’s “literary renaissance” during the 1960s and 1970s.
