Government of Canada Recognizes the National Historic Significance of David Brown Milne

Dr. Richard Alway, Chair of the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, will take part in a Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate David Brown Milne as a person of national historic significance.
David Brown Milne was one of Canada’s most outstanding artists of the early 20th century. A modernist painter, he produced thousands of original oils, watercolours, prints and sketches, which are widely exhibited in Canada and internationally. Born in Burgoyne, Ontario, in 1891, he moved with his family to nearby Paisley as a young boy.
Dr. Alway will make the announcement on behalf of the Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna.
