Parks Canada’s Learn-to Camp program is a chance for first-time campers to acquire basic camping skills and learn how to plan and enjoy safe camping trips.

Offered in partnership with MEC, families can learn practical skills, as well as fun activities, designed to inspire them to connect with nature.

The Coteau-du-Lac National Historic site is hosting an overnight Learn-to-Camp activity that is taking place on July 27–28. Camping gear is provided. All you need to bring is a sleeping bag! You will learn basic camping skills, including how to set up a tent, cook, and safely light a campfire. Take the opportunity to spend the night in a tent under the stars along the St. Lawrence River and connect with nature through activities such as ornithology and camp songs.

The activity costs $88 per tent, tax included. Each tent has a maximum capacity of four people. The activity is free for children aged 5 and under who are accompanied by an adult. To participate, please reserve your spot by calling 1-844-365-2646.

If you have any questions about this activity, contact Coteau-du-Lac National Historic Site’s team at 450-763-5631 or the reservation team at 1-844-365-2646.
