Muskowekwan First Nation and Parks Canada Commemorate the Former Muscowequan Indian Residential School

Muskowekwan First Nation, along with Parks Canada and the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada will hold a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the historic significance of the Former Muscowequan Indian Residential School.
The Former Muscowequan Indian Residential School, known locally as The Mission, is the only standing former residential school in Saskatchewan, and one of the few remaining residential school buildings in Canada.
The plaque unveiling event will be preceded by a children’s procession of students from Muskowekwan School.

The details are as follows:
Date: Friday, October 3, 2025
Time: The event will start at 9:30 a.m. (CST) with a children’s procession to the National Historic Site.
The official unveiling will begin at 11:00 a.m. (CST)
