Minister Vandal to announce federal funding to revitalize community infrastructure and enhance public spaces across Edmonton

April 28, 2022 – Edmonton, Alberta – The Honourable Daniel Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan, and the Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance, will announce federal support for community revitalization initiatives— including support for Edmonton’s downtown core, enhancing main streets and reinventing outdoor spaces—so that Edmontonians of all ages and abilities can benefit from modern amenities for events, recreation, community building and other activities.   

Joining Ministers Vandal and Boissonnault will be Mayor Amarjeet Sohi; Puneeta McBryan, Executive Director, Edmonton Downtown Business Association; Cherie Klassen, Executive Director, Old Strathcona Business Association; Traci Bednard, CEO, Explore Edmonton; Valda Roberts, Vice President, Alberta Avenue Community League; and representatives of various community organizations.

Speakers will be available to answer questions from the media following the remarks.
