Minister Vandal to unveil new PrairiesCan service location and announce federal investments for projects in northeast Alberta

February 2, 2023 – Fort McMurray, Alberta – The Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan, will officially unveil the new PrairiesCan service location in Fort McMurray and announce federal support for tourism, community infrastructure and business programs in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.  

Joining Minister Vandal will be the Honourable Brian Jean, Minister of Jobs, Economy and Northern Development, Government of Alberta; Sandy Bowman, Mayor, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo; Chief Neil Cheecham, Fort McMurray 468 First Nation; Kevin Weidlich, CEO, Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo Economic Development and Tourism; and Jodie Cooper, Director Sports and Recreation, CEO, Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo.

Speakers will be available to answer questions from the media following their remarks.
