Government of Canada to announce support for lifesaving training and emergency preparedness in Manitoba

November 28, 2025 – Winnipeg, Manitoba – Anthony Housefather, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Member of Parliament for Mount Royal, Quebec, on behalf of the Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan), will be joined by the Honourable Glen Simard, Manitoba’s Minister of Municipal and Northern Relations and City of Winnipeg Mayor Scott Gillingham to announce investments to strengthen Manitoba’s ability to respond to emergencies, support safer workplaces and communities, and contribute to local economic growth and resilience.
