Minister Goodale's Statement on the Death of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police Officer

OTTAWA, Ontario, October 28, 2016 – The Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, made the following statement today on the sudden death of Inspector Tony Perry in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador.

“We join all Canadians in offering our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Inspector Tony Perry, who died suddenly this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this very difficult time.

Inspector Perry dutifully carried out the RCMP’s role to preserve the peace, protect life and property, and enforce the law. He will be deeply missed.”
