Ministers Sajjan, Guilbeault, Wilkinson, and Hajdu to Provide an Update on the 2024 Wildfire Season

Ottawa, Ontario – Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada, Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada, the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services Canada and Minister responsible for FedNor, as they provide an update on the forecast for the 2024 wildfire season.

Prior to the press conference, Government of Canada officials will host an embargoed media technical briefing to provide an update on the seasonal outlook for wildfires. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions to officials attending in a “for attribution” capacity.

All information and documents provided during the technical briefing will remain under embargo until the end of the ministerial press conference.
