A Meeting Owl lets you control audio and video on the in-room monitors from your notebook, while the Owl device will become your microphone, speaker and camera.

How to use the Meeting Owl

  1. Plug the small USB-C cord on the table into your notebook, if you don’t have a USB-C port on your notebook, plug the small USB into the larger USB adapter and then into your notebook
  2. Launch the Microsoft Teams application on your notebook
  3. Start your meeting from your notebook and your notebook will automatically use the microphone, speakers and camera of the Meeting Owl technology

Note

  • The sensitivity of the microphone and volume of the speakers are controlled by your notebook
  • The connected notebook display will be shown on the in-room monitor display
  • To share with virtual participants via Microsoft Teams, use the Share option in Microsoft Teams

Configuring your display settings

As a default, your screen will be mirrored on the in-room monitor display. To extend your display:

  1. right-click your desktop background to open Display Settings
  2. on the right-side, find the drop-down menu
    • the Duplicate these displays option is selected by default
  3. change the option by selecting Extend these displays
  4. select Keep changes when the prompt appears

To rearrange the screens for display and mouse continuity:

  1. in Display Settings, drag the display icons to arrange them in the configuration you want
  2. use the Identify button to determine the identity of the screens (icon 1 or 2)
  3. when you have completed your configuration, select Apply

Troubleshooting tips

Try these troubleshooting tips if you experience issues with the Meeting Owl.

Your notebook does not pick up the microphone or camera

From a Microsoft Teams meeting window:

  1. select More (…) in the Microsoft Teams meeting control bar
  2. select Device Settings to open the settings menu
  3. under Audio Devices choose Meeting Owl for Audio Devices and Speaker
  4. scroll down to Camera and set to Meeting Owl

Audio feedback

Ensure that everyone in the boardroom other than the one connected to the Meeting Owl has muted their microphone and speakers on their notebooks.

Audio or visual issues

  • Ensure the Meeting Owl is turned on
  • Ensure the Meeting Owl is selected as the audio, speaker and microphone under Device Settings in Microsoft Teams
  • Check that the in-room monitor display is turned on
  • Try using the equipment from another notebook
