Media Advisory

For immediate release

KINGSTON, Ontario, November 3, 2015 – Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians of a closure affecting vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the LaSalle Causeway. The closure, causing traffic disruptions, will take place on Thursday, November 5, 2015, from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

During this time, work will cease every 20 minutes to allow vehicular and pedestrian traffic to cross. PWGSC and the City of Kingston are working together to ensure timely access for emergency vehicles. The schedule may change due to inclement weather.

This closure is required to maintain the bascule bridge. Safety is a top priority for PWGSC, and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage. PWGSC apologizes for any inconvenience these traffic restrictions may cause and thanks everyone for their understanding.
