LaSalle Causeway - overnight road closures

Media Advisory

For immediate release

KINGSTON, Ontario, April 25, 2016 — Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise motorists and pedestrians of upcoming overnight closures on the LaSalle Causeway affecting vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The overnight closures will begin on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. and will continue nightly through to April 29.

During this time, vehicles will not be allowed to cross the bridge. Work will cease periodically to allow pedestrian traffic to cross. PSPC and the City of Kingston are working together to ensure timely access for emergency vehicles.

These closures are necessary to complete annual bridge maintenance work. Regular bridge operations are scheduled to resume on Friday, April 29, at 5 a.m. Work may be completed before the scheduled re-opening.

The schedule above may change due to inclement weather. PSPC will publish notifications regarding any changes in schedule.

Safety is a top priority for PSPC, and we are committed to ensuring the continued integrity of the bridges we manage.

We apologize for any inconvenience these traffic restrictions may cause and thank everyone for their understanding.
