Lane closures on Burlington Canal Lift Bridge

Hamilton, Ontario, July 17, 2026 — Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) wishes to advise users of upcoming lane closures on the Burlington Canal Lift Bridge to accommodate work on the bridge lift span during the following period:

• Monday, July 20, to Friday, July 24, from 7 pm to 5:30 am (ET)

During this period, three lanes will be closed, and one lane will remain open to alternating traffic. Traffic control persons will be on site to direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists may incur delays.

The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and cyclists. Marine traffic will not be affected.

The schedule may change depending on weather or working conditions. PSPC will issue a revised public notice in the event of any schedule changes.
