CRTC Broadband Fund second call: first round of selected projects
Backgrounder
Today, the CRTC approved funding for five transport projects from the CRTC Broadband Fund. While a transport project does not connect individual households to broadband infrastructure, it does provide the network that will enable Internet access services to be provided. A total of over 550 km of fibre transport networks will be built in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario, targeting 41 communities that represent more than 8,000 households, including three Indigenous communities and one official language minority community.
