Vision for a Healthy Canada

The vision for a healthy Canada identifies actions we're taking to help people achieve and maintain good physical and mental health. This will help Canadians to lead healthier lives and build a healthier society.

We will help make the healthier food choice the easier choice. Our actions will improve healthy eating information and nutrition quality standards. They will also protect vulnerable populations, strengthen labelling and claims, and support increased access and availability of nutritious foods.

Healthy living is about choosing healthy options for how we conduct our day-to-day activities. We’re working to reduce smoking, promote physical activity and healthy weights, and prevent and manage concussions.

We aim to build resilient communities supportive of mental well-being and prevent mental illness and suicide. We can do this by reducing risk factors, improving access to quality mental health services and fighting the stigma associated with mental illness.
