From Public Safety Canada
Current Status: Closed
Opened on March 19, 2024 and closed to new input on April 12, 2024.
The Research Division (RD), Crime Prevention Branch, is mandated to provide sound, empirical information that supports evidence-based policy development in the priority areas of crime prevention and evaluation, law enforcement and policing, and corrections and criminal justice. Within the scope of this mandate, RD coordinates the interdepartmental development of the Corrections and Conditional Release Statistical Overview (CCRSO), a report that has been published annually since 1998. The purpose of the CCRSO is to assist the public in understanding statistical information on corrections and conditional release within a context of crime trends.
The goal of this survey was to solicit feedback from stakeholders on their experience interacting with the 2022 edition of the CCRSO. In particular, RD was interested in identifying potential issues around accessibility. These findings may inform new approaches to data visualization in the CCRSO in future iterations.
