Industry Engagement

July 6, 2016: Shared Services Canada (SSC) launched the Invitation to Qualify (ITQ) phase of the Workplace Technology Devices (WTD) Printing Products procurement process for Managed Print Services, with a notice posted today to buyandsell.gc.ca.

The purpose of the Managed Print Services ITQ phase is to qualify the top five ranked respondents who have demonstrated proven skills and experience in implementing and providing printing products and managed print services. These top five qualified respondents who have met the ITQ evaluation criteria will proceed to the Review and Refine Requirements phase. This will be followed by the Bid Solicitation phase and then the awarding of contracts.

WTD Printing Products refers to printers and scanners that connect directly to a computing device or the network, as well as to multi-function devices that combine printing, scanning and photocopying.

Managed Print Services optimize and manage document output. This includes needs assessment, replacement of print hardware, and support services, such as the provision of parts and supplies, with the exception of paper. This service also tracks how the printer, fax, copier and multi-function printer fleet is being used, incidents that occur and user satisfaction.

SSC continues to support its mandate to transform how the Government of Canada procures its workplace technology devices in order to enhance security, reduce costs and improve service to Canadians. The WTD initiative also supports SSC’s ongoing efforts to consolidate and upgrade the Government of Canada’s information technology infrastructure.
