Classified systems and services
Shared Services Canada (SSC) delivers classified systems and services to the Government of Canada (GC) for information classified as SECRET. This includes secure platforms and communications, as well as essential services that:
- protect sensitive government operations and classified data from cyber threats
- reduce reliance on legacy systems
- support efficient, resilient operations across government
By providing the trusted, cutting-edge solutions and technologies needed to safeguard the handling and communication of SECRET-level information, we are driving efforts that:
- better protect sensitive government operations and mission-critical services, as well as the safety and security of Canadians, especially during times of crisis
- empower collaboration and innovation in secure, classified environments that protect Canada’s national interests
- keep sensitive government data within Canada and provide public servants with reliable, cost-effective and highly available collaboration tools, both domestically and internationally
End state
Our end-state, enterprise-class and future-ready infrastructure includes the following:
Classified enterprise platform
Secure, segregated platform(s) for the digital creation, sharing and storage of information classified up to SECRET, including secure desktop, email, file management, printing and application hosting services.
Classified voice, video and messaging
A fully integrated enterprise classified communications platform supporting up to SECRET-level voice, video and instant messaging across desktop, VoIP and mobile devices.
Classified access and data exchange
Seamless and secure user and administrator access and data transfer capabilities across classified networks and systems within the GC and with our international partners.
Classified foundation services
The essential IT infrastructure and security components that power SSC’s classified services, which ensure reliable, efficient and secure classified solutions tailored to meet the GC’s needs.
