Minister Catherine McKenna and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen to participate in the Giant Floor Map activity
Longueuil, Quebec, February 14, 2018 — On Thursday, February 15, the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, will be joining Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen and 60 Grade 6 students in a pollution awareness activity as part of the Canada from Space Giant Floor Map Program.
This initiative aims to help young Canadians better understand the key role Earth observation satellites play in their daily lives and to spark an interest in science and technology. It stems from a collaboration between the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and the Canadian Space Agency.
